Hello and welcome to Hazel Class!
The adults in our class are: Miss Kelly
If you have a question or concern please feel free to come and speak to a member of staff at the beginning or end of the day.
PE will be on Thursdays and Fridays. Please make sure your child has a named PE kit in school. We will try to go outside when the weather is dry so please include a pair jogging bottoms or leggings.
Show and Tell will be on Monday (when we do not have forest schools, Tuesday when we do). We know the children are keen to share their experiences with us but please try to limit the days they bring in things to share to Mondays. Thank you!
Forest School happens fortnightly in KS1, please see below for a list of dates for this term. Your child will need a warm change of clothes (layers are good) that you don't mind getting muddy, a pair of wellies or old trainers, a waterproof coat and a spare bag for dirty boots, all of which needs to be in a bag on your child's peg.

This half term we be learning about traditional tales, focusing on The Three Little Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood and Hansel and Gretel. We will also look at wolves as part of our non-fiction week. There will be plenty of opportunities to act out the stories, look at speech, using conjunctions (and, or, but, when, because etc) to join sentences, look at alternative stories and endings and retelling our own versions. The children will look at the history of homes and explore different materials that can be used to make them. After the February half term, we will be spending lots of time practicing for our Spring play.
In maths we will be looking at numbers to 100, finding one more, one less, two more, two less and ten more and ten less. We will spend time looking at the value of different numbers and how they are made up of tens and ones before moving onto addition and subtraction.
