Year 1 Maple

Hello and welcome to the Maple class webpage.

In Maple class  PE is on a Wednesday and Friday, so your child will need their PE kit in a named bag hanging on their peg.  We try to go outside when the weather is dry, so as well as a pair of shorts and a t-shirt, your child will also need a pair of jogging bottoms or leggings; they will need plimsolls or trainers to run around in.

Show and Tell will be on Monday.

Forest School happens fortnightly in KS1, usually on a Monday afternoon.

Your child will need a warm change of clothes (layers are good) that you don't mind getting muddy, a pair of wellies or old trainers, a waterproof coat and a spare bag for dirty boots, all of which needs to be in a bag on your child's peg.

Your child should be reading daily to an adult, which can then be recorded in their green reading record book.  This needs to be in school everyday and placed in the green reading box as you come into the classroom in the morning. If your child reads their library book, a book of their own, listens to a story tape/CD or any kind of reading related activity, please also note it in their green reading record book.

We go to the school library on a Friday.  Your child can choose either a fiction or non-fiction book to take home. Please encourage your child to share their book with you at home and return it to school the following Friday to be changed.

Homework is given out on a Friday in a folder, it needs to be completed by the following Thursday at the latest, returned in the folder and placed in the green tray which is located next to the reading record tray.

If you have any questions, please feel free to come in and speak to Mrs Patel-Martin or Mrs Parsons.
