Wraparound Provision
At Strathmore we are excited to be able to offer full wraparound provision to our pupils. We will refer to our wraparound provision clubs as Adventurers. We offer breakfast club provision from 7:45am to 8:45am and our Nursery lunch club provision from 11:45am to 12:15pm. After school we offer extended provision from 3.15pm to 6pm on Mondays to Thursdays and 3.15pm – 5.15pm on Fridays. Please see our brochure below for more information. If your child attends any of our wraparound provisions, our school vision and values are embedded within these sessions and we continue to follow our school Behaviour and Safeguarding policies.
Breakfast Club Adventurers
Our breakfast club provides quality childcare for children in our school from 7:45am to 8:45am. The cost is £6.50 per child and this includes a light breakfast with cereal, toast, fruit, etc. We also offer an early drop off option, with no food, from 08:15 for £3 per child.
It is run by Strathmore staff and has wonderful facilities so that the children feel happy, stimulated and safe.
Fees are payable via the Arbor app for all bookings and must be booked a half term in advance. If you have not paid in advance your child will not be able to attend. If you wish to cancel a session and claim a refund, we will require 48 hours notice. Childcare vouchers are accepted. Please contact the school office to ensure we have the childcare voucher scheme you use on our records.
Our staff members are:
- Mrs D Virdee
- Mrs Saleem
- Miss Begum
If you would like to know more about our breakfast club or if you would like to book a place for your child, please contact the school office via 01462 459558 or admin@strathmore.herts.sch.uk.
Nursery Lunch Club
We have an excellent lunch club available for permanent and one-off sessions. The session will be run by familiar members of staff. Children will eat in the main Strathmore Restaurant and then play in the Nursery classroom with all the resources they are familiar with.
Lunch club sessions will run from 11.45am to 12.15pm each day at a cost of £3. This is not included within the 30 hours and is an extra payment which can be made on Arbor.
Children will need to bring a packed lunch or they can pay for a hot meal from our catering provider at a cost of £2.61.
Further booking information may be obtained from the school office: admin@strathmore.herts.sch.uk.
After School Adventurers
From September 2024 we are very excited to be extending our wraparound provision for Strathmore pupils only.
Registration of Interest for the provision can be made via this link. We kindly ask you also email admin@strathmore.herts.sch.uk to inform the school you have registered your interest.
We are asking for a small, non-refundable registration fee of £10 per child in order to secure your child's space. One places have been allocated, the registration fee payment will appear on the Arbor app and needs to be paid to secure your child's place on our provision. As a reminder, this secures your child's place for their time at Strathmore.
For New Reception and Nursery Pupils
Please use the booking link above. Places will be allocated to existing children first and then will be allocated to new children after, on a first come first serve basis. Payments will be made via Arbor once registration forms have been completed and access to Arbor has been set up. A deadline date will be shared with new parents and carers in June via email.
Our Session Times
There will be two sessions you can apply for in our after school wraparound provision:
- Option 1: 3.15pm - 5.15pm at £12 per session.
- Option 2: 3.15pm - 5.45pm at £15 per session.
Please note you need to choose one session time only for the duration of the half term.
Childcare vouchers are accepted. We currently accept vouchers from:
- Sodexo.
- Computershare.
- Child tax free account.
- Care-4 Childcare.
We are offering an extension to the school day with the opportunity for your child to relax in a nurturing environment with a range of activities linked to key areas of learning and development. There will be timetabled activities throughout the week in our Let’s Get Physical, Let’s Get Creative and Let’s Make sessions. This may include various crafts, baking, building, playdough, messy play, using computers, yoga, active mats, obstacle courses, and much more.
In addition to these activities, we would like to support your child with their reading whilst they remain in our care. We will offer a Let’s Read opportunity for children to read with an adult or with each other. This may be within the main area for provision or within our school library to allow pupils to read for pleasure in a calming environment.
In our Early Years provision, we follow the interests of our children and we intend to do the same in our wraparound provision. We will plan activities linked to their ideas and include them in planning of key themes and weekly provision.
As all our pupils are entitled to a free hot meal throughout the school day, our wraparound provision will include a cold meal option. All children will be offered a cold meal during their session time, including those who may be attending other clubs on our site. We will offer two sittings for food and children can help themselves during their mealtime slot to a range of foods such as wraps, crackers, sandwiches, vegetables, fruit, yoghurts, sausage rolls, etc. We will not be offering chocolate or crisps but may have pudding options. If your child has any dietary requirements please ensure these are noted when you complete the registration documentation.
Vision and Ethos
As our provision is an extension to the school day, our school vision and values will be embedded in these sessions just as they would be within our curriculum and our school day. This includes our Safeguarding and Behaviour Policies.
We intend to share with you updates of what our pupils have been doing during our wraparound care within our school newsletter.
Registering Interest
We will be offering places on a first come first served basis. We have the capacity to open our provision to a large number of children as we have full access to the school’s spaces. This will of course be staffing dependent. At this stage, we are capping numbers to 48 pupils per session, however, if our staffing numbers increase we may be able to offer more spaces.
For New Reception and Nursery Pupils
Please use the link above to register your interest. Places will be allocated to existing children first and then will be allocated to new children after, on a first come first serve basis. Payments will be made via Arbor once registration forms have been completed and access to Arbor has been set up. A deadline date will be shared with new parents and carers in June via email.
The following information applies to all our wraparound provisions:
Free places
For any pupil who is entitled to free school meals, we offer one free session a week in one of our wraparound sessions of your choosing. Please speak to the school office for more information on eligibility and booking options.
Booking conditions
We use Arbor to pay for all our wraparound provisions. Please note each provision requires parents and carers to pay a half term in advance. If payment is not made in advance, the space is not guaranteed and therefore will not show as allocated on the app. If you are unable to book on to the session, this is likely due to the session being full.
Each provision will have its own payment option on Arbor.
For the after school provision, you may be able to book on the day as an emergency if you inform the school office by 2pm and they confirm there is a space available. Nursery lunch club would need to be confirmed before 9am and breakfast club would need to be confirmed the day before by 3pm.
If you wish to cancel a session we require 48 hours notice.
For new Reception and Nursery parents who do not have access to Arbor yet, please complete this form to register your interest for any of our wrapround provisions.
Childcare vouchers are accepted. We currently accept vouchers from the following providers:
- Sodexo
- Computershare
- Child tax free account
- Care-4 Childcare
Please speak to the school office to register your provider if it is not shown here.
Late Fees
Please note late fees will apply for collection from our nursery lunch club and after school provision. If you are more than 10 minutes late to collect your child, you will be charged £10 per child for every additional 10 minutes. We will make allowances for extenuating circumstances.
FAQs
No. Once you have a place secured it will be for the entire time your child is at Strathmore. You will need to pay a half term’s fees upfront to ensure we can provide the necessary resources and staffing.
We will prioritise spaces for siblings who are a pupil of Strathmore school if the other sibling is already attending the Strathmore wraparound provision.
As a new and exciting opportunity, we need to ensure we create a sustainable and achievable offer to our parents and carers. At this stage we are unable to offer a safe transport option for the number of pupils required to move between the schools. We do appreciate the difficulties this may cause but unfortunately we are unable to offer this option. We will review this annually.
Cookie Club is the wraparound provider at Wilshere-Dacre which is our feeder school. To register your interest please contact them or visit their website for further information Cookie Club.
After accepting a place at Strathmore, new Reception parents will need to register their interest for thier child to attend our wraparound provision. If there is a space for the days chosen, you will be informed and asked to pay a non-refundable £10 registration fee. This holds your child's place at the provision for their time at Strathmore or until the provision is no longer required.
All children are welcome, we would want to ensure your child is safe and our staff can provide for them as required. Please register your interest and we will then invite you to an initial meeting or phone call to discuss your child’s needs, any training staff may be required to have, etc.
In exceptional circumstances, we may be able to book you on to the session on the day if you call before 2pm and there is a space.
For breakfast club you would need to email the day before by 3pm to ensure spaces are available.
For Nursery lunch club you would need to enquire by 9am on the day to ensure spaces are available.
If your child is in receipt of pupil premium they are entitled to a free session. All pupils in our school are entitled to free school meals through the Universal Infant Free School Meals scheme, however, this is not the same as pupil premium entitlement. If you need clarification on whether your child is in receipt of pupil premium please contact the school office.
We ask that all of our wraparound clubs are paid at least 4 weeks in advance to ensure we can safely staff our provision and purchase all resources and consumables needed.
As we need to ensure all sessions are fully staffed, we will need to employ members from 3.15pm regardless of whether your child is attending a club. Our staff will then collect your child from the club and bring them to our provision. We are therefore unable to offer a discount.
Yes. Please let the school office know that you intend to pay via childcare vouchers and the name of your provider. Your childcare payment must match the number of sessions booked on Arbor. For example, if you have booked 12 sessions and the total is £180, only pay £180 through the childcare scheme. This allows us to match up payments and note as paid on Arbor. Your child will then be added to the register for the sessions booked.
We will need to pay our staff to stay overtime if you are unable to collect your child on time. We appreciate at times circumstances can affect this and will take this into account, however, we will still need to pay our staff if they are waiting for parents and carers to collect.
