Announcements: What a wonderful week we have had in Year 2! The children really enjoy playing outside with our Opal equipment in all weathers, please may we ask children have wellies, waterproofs and spare clothing when the weather is particularly wet. It’s been a great week for the ducks! Please remember that this Friday is an INSET day and school will be closed to pupils. We look forward to welcoming everyone back after half term.
English: This week in English we have been exploring texts for information, looking at The Big Blue Whale. We have been using the book as inspiration to create our own creatures this week – planning out how we might describe and explain the features of our new animas in a class non-fiction text. Well done, Year 2! We have continued working on our Bridge to Spelling and have been so impressed by the children’s growing confidence to identify spelling rules for “ch” and “tch”.
Maths: This week we have been working on an addition and subtraction recap, using maths manipulative to help us to exchange when crossing a ten. The children have been working really hard on this, as we prepare to take in multiplication and division in the coming weeks!
