What is FOSSA / Friends of Strathmore School Association?

If you are new to Strathmore Infant & Nursery School, FOSSA is the parent teacher association by another name. But you don’t have to be a parent to get involved – carers, grandparents and friends of the school can join in too.
Every month we meet up in the staffroom to organise events and activities for the children and their families to enjoy. Our largest event of the year is Fireworks & Bonfire Night, but we also have the Christmas and Easter Discos, Coffee & Cake mornings (pre-schoolers welcome), the Cinema Club and our Second-Hand Uniform Stall to name but a few!
ALL profit raised at these events is ploughed back into the school to contribute towards the cost of improved facilities and activity days for the children - FOSSA has funded workshops, eg. visiting author days, and new equipment for the playground areas.
We really appreciate new parents/carers getting involved and suggesting exciting new ways of raising funds, so please pop along to a meeting, check out our Facebook page and Noticeboards, volunteer to help at an event (every hour counts) and, most importantly of all, come along to these events and have some fun!
